James Burkhouse - Pennwood Strings

Fiddles, Bowed Psaltries, Hammered Dulcimers, Harps

Dick Gilman - Master Craftsman

Has been making traditional style mountain dulcimers and fretless banjos for 42 years! It was his hobby while he maintained his day job (Professor of Geology, SUNY-Fredonia). Since retirement "production" has increased somewhat, but he still makes a handful of instruments a year. Each instrument tends to be a unique combination of woods used and design change. He also restores vintage student-grade violins. Dick will also be bringing violins.

Jim Holler - Trinity Guitars

Trinity Guitars - Jim Holler, owner and founder of Trinity Guitars will be displaying his guitars and instruments from C.F Martin Guitars, Larrivee Guitars, Webber Mandolins and National Steel guitars.

Jim holds eight patents and has worked for 23 years as an engineer and designer in wood products. He earned an engineering degree in Wood Product Engineering from The School of Forestry in Syracuse, NY and holds eight U.S. patents relating to furniture. Early on in his luthier career, he received a fellowship from the Arts Council for Chautauqua County. Since leaving the furniture industry to concentrate on guitar building, he authored an additional patent #6894209 B2 for his innovative bent top guitar design. His original guitars are rooted in the Germanic Hauser School of guitar building, to which he has added many of his own innovative ideas including the player response and bent top designs. The classical guitar is his love and his specialty.

Todd Crowley’s Display and Play Station

Dia’Todd’Nics Autoharp and Dulcimer Play Station features ToddCrowley ’s collection of autoharps and mountain dulcimers. The Play Station features autoharps built by notable luthiers, such as George Orthey and Tom Fladmark, and dulcimer builders, Keith Young and Carl Gotzmer, among many others. Todd’s booth will be open throughout the Festival in the Vendors’ Area. The Play Station is a fun, hands-on, and informative exhibit where Todd will be able to answer questions about the various builders. He can also diagnose and repair most autoharp problems on-site or take orders for his special customized Oscar Schmidt autoharps.

Joseph L. Knight – Luthier

I have made 55 violins and I also do violin, viola, cello and bass repairs and set ups. I build violins according to the specifications of the Warren School which is now Chicago School of Violin Making. I have sold my violins to two violin teachers and people in the higher echelon of country and bluegrass music. I have people in the Johnstown Symphony, the Venango Chamber Orchestra and the Clarion University Orchestra playing my violins. I have been making violins 13 years. One of my violins won the PA State Championship last October. I hope you will stop by my booth and try one. Joseph L. Knight - Luthier
